SHIPPINGS INFOS : WORLDWIDE + UE

An announcement as shippings’ processes have considerably became more complicated for small businesses.

Due to several political decisions, I am not able to ship my ceramics to the USA or to the EU.

Trump has made it quite difficult for us to ship without enormous taxes. Shipping is already expensive, but you also have to add customs fees and additional taxes because you are importing goods made outside the USA. I personally find it unnecessary to pay three to five times the price of one of my pieces just to have it shipped to the USA.

Regarding EU issues, you may have heard about the PPWR regulation — which is very important for the environment but extremely expensive for small business owners. What it means is that I, as a small business owner who ships ceramics to countries other than France, need to take responsibility for all the packaging waste I send abroad. Even though I reuse the boxes from the books we receive for our orders at Fracas, and all the protective materials (cardboard, plastic, bubble wrap…) are also reused, I still have to pay a tax per country and ensure I can trace all the PPW I use (and I read somewhere that the PPW must even be designed to be shipped multiple times?). This is impossible. These taxes vary depending on the country and add up quickly.

This process is far too complicated for me as a small business owner, and far too expensive. PPWR will be reviewed again this autumn. I will keep you updated if anything changes.

Until then, I am very sorry that I cannot ship any of my ceramics outside France.
